Who We Are

PAL Gloucester was born as a community effort to encourage people from all over the city to "sign up to clean up" and be a part of the great community of caring citizens that just want to keep Gloucester clean, beautiful, and reduce the harm trash can do to the planet. This website serves as a place to learn about why it's important to pick up trash and all of the opportunities available to do so as a community through clean initiatives.

PAL came about when a group of citizens who regularly clean up around their neighborhoods realized the amount of trash around the area wasn't declining, it continued to build up despite their efforts. They thought it would be a great idea to get more members of the community involved to cover areas of the city that they couldn't get to and help keep the trash from spreading all over.

We live in a beautiful place and we can all agree that seeing trash litter our oceans, parks, and neighborhoods isn't only not great to look at, but it's bad for the environment and all of the animals that live here too. A lot of the trash that scatters the city ends up in our storm drains and into our oceans.

By providing the resources needed for other citizens to learn about all of the other clean city initiatives in Gloucester and how to get involved in making a difference we could keep the city clean TOGETHER.
